Bingo Games - Are There Really Different Types?

Different types of bingo games

Bingo is probably one of the first games you ever learned, and it is likely that it's the only game you started playing in earlier years that you have an interest in today. Bingo's versatility is one reason for its long-term popularity and that versatility is incorporated into where bingo is played, from brick and mortar buildings to websites. Here is a look at some different types of bingo.

75 ball bingo: The granddaddy of bingo games in North America, and the one you know from your childhood. Seventy-five ball bingo is used for mathematical skills and concepts as well as a bit of recreational fun for adults. The game is played with a 5x5 card and the highest number on the card is seventy-five. Regular bingo games are won by making a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally, but there are many varieties, some of them are discussed below.

90 ball bingo: Outside North America, ninety ball bingo is the most popular version of the game. There is more than one prize to be had in every ninety ball bingo game, even though premiums are typically less than seventy-five ball. Cards have nine columns and three rows, each row contains the numbers one to ninety. The rest of the spots are empty, and there is no free space!

Variations: There are several variations of the standard seventy-five ball. In blackout bingo, a player must have all the numbers on a card crossed off to win. In four corner bingo, a player needs only 4 numbers called, but these numbers must be in the corners of the card.

Another way to add variations in bingo is to mix prizes. Combination bingo is a game where there is more than one winner in a game, when the vertical line is bingoed once, players can then play the 4 corners of the bingo card, and so on. In a progressive bingo game, if there is no winner within a certain amount of calls, the game is over and the prize carried over to the next game. Bonus play: games are played "On the side" and are generally bought for a little extra money

Lastly, there are previously called games that are played with a sealed card. In these games, the numbers are set in advance. The odd-even bingo game is a variant, where the first digit dropped determines whether the game will be odd or even called.

Different bingo games styles

If you've never gone to a bingo hall or a site on the Internet to play the good old game of bingo, you'll not only be surprised at how much fun playing the game can be, but also by the number of bingo game styles out there. Here's a quick look at some of the ways in which bingo today is different than the version you're probably used to.

90 Ball Bingo: This version of bingo was developed in the UK & is the world's most popular version of bingo (here in North America we usually play seventy-five ball). Ninety ball bingo has many empty spaces on each card and also offers players three chances to win in every game.

Speedball bingo: If the standard bingo game styles are a little too slow for you, then you might want to try 1 hour speedball. For Internet and brick and mortar bingo halls, Speedball is played in rounds that last for an hour. It's quite a ride, especially when you know you tend to miss numbers, even in standard games. Balls are listed in a fast pace and the score keepers record who has won. The player with the most wins at the end of the hour, take the main prize and there are alternative prizes as well.

Pattern Bingo: If you are artsy, raise your hand. This is for those who are tired of straight line wins and want to be a little creative. It is surprising how many patterns a person can see in a simple 5x5 box when they are really studying their card. Having a winning bingo patterns means you have to block out a particular pattern or form. The pattern varies from something ordinary like a square or outer form of a letter to the ink splotch patterns with names like "picnic table". If the letter patterns are not crazy enough for you, you can put the word crazy before the pattern name and you win even if the letter appears on its side or up and down.

The many different bingo games styles mean that bingo players will never run out of new ways to change the game up a bit and make it more interesting. Online bingo can be a particularly good place to start when searching variants of bingo.

5 Ways to Improve Your Pre-Flop Game

5 Ways to Improve Your Pre-Flop Game
1) Take control preflop - Try coming in for a raise whenever you play a hand. I know this is tough, but taking initiative every time you open a pot will be very important to becoming a successful player, especially in no limit hold 'em.
2) Controlling tilt - Try to not care. As hard as that sounds you have to want to win but be OK with losing. I have losing weeks sometimes, and I try to remain positive. It always comes back around but if you tilt and continue to play it just won't work out.
3) Exercise! - Most people realize you have to be mentally tough to succeed in poker, but people don't realize the physical aspect of it. Most players don't take the time to work out or eat well, but let me tell you, it helps. Last year I made a sick run online and it all happened after I started working out. I also have got on a new plan for eating well and working out, and since then I have been playing well and winning.
4) Don't fall in love with your hand preflop - If you were playing a tournament, and you raise with TT and I re-raise you back. Chances are your TT is not very good (in the first few levels of a tournament). Try just folding this hand, because you are essentially set mining and have no idea where you are in the hand.
5) Taking breaks - I have written some articles on this, and find this to be supremely important while playing poker. Last year during WSOP I played 6 events, cashed in zero. I had three bubbles and the last tournament I made a dumb play to bust. The next day was an event I really wanted to play, the 2500 PLO/PLH mixed event. I decided to just drive out to Cali, and go to the beach and relax. So I did, I missed the tournament I really wanted to play so I could get my mind right. Low and behold it worked, the first event I played after I got back I took 3rd in a 3k buyin'.

Protecting Yourself From the Dangers of Internet Gambling

Protecting Yourself From the Dangers of Internet Gambling
The smaller and newer a site is, the more risk there is that you will not be able to get money back when you win. They may be running a scam, or even if they are a legitimate company, there is risk that they will go bankrupt and not be able to pay their debts. You may not be able to claim the money that you rightfully won.
The first thing to consider, when choosing a site, is looking for a well-populated poker room that has established a long track record of paying their debts when a withdrawal is requested. Party Poker, Poker Stars, Paradise Poker, and Ultimate Bet are some of the oldest and most well established sites you should consider, when choosing where to play.
The Random Number Generator
Something else to be aware of is that each poker site simulates things like shuffling and cards dealt by using a random number generator. It's very important that no one can predict what cards are being dealt to other players because, if they could, it would be very easy for them to always play correctly and win all your money.
It's not very likely that you'll find a poker site that doesn't have a very good randomizer, however, since it's in their best interest to give everyone a fair chance to win. Also, there is a regulatory commission, which licenses these sites and checks such things. Sites are also subject to independent auditing.
Audit Inspections:
Inspections from the auditing companies are always random and unannounced. The servers running the software are all examined, as is the programming being used. Also, there are laws in place, which require all Internet poker sites to get a license that can only be given by the Kahnawake Gaming Agency. They set the rules and regulations that all poker sites have to follow in order to get licensed. They will revoke the license if a site is not carefully following all of these rules.
There's also the consideration of how much personal and financial information you are giving out, when you deposit money on a poker site. It's possible that a computer hacker could try to get past the security of the poker site and gain access to your credit card or checking account information. It's even possible that the poker site employees themselves may sell lists of their players to other companies. In this day and age we all know the dangers of identity theft and it could happen, if you willingly give too much information to the wrong site.
Addiction Chances:
Perhaps the biggest risk of playing poker online is the chance you take of getting addicted. Online gaming makes it very easy to lose track of how much you've lost and even the best players have periods of time where the cards just aren't kind. Remember that poker can be a fun game, but never deposit more than you're willing to lose. Poker sites make money from players, so only a small portion of those players can come away ahead consistently.

Free Poker Games Online - Considerations For the Best Overall Experience

Free Poker Games Online - Considerations For the Best Overall Experience
Whenever a new player considers playing free poker games online they often are lost when attempting to make a decision on what site is the best to play on. There are often a few things to consider when choosing an online poker site and since many sites make huge claims that they provide the best overall experience the biggest deciding factor is often the incentives they offer.
One incentive that some of the more prominent sites use to attract new players are free poker game bankrolls. The site will essentially bankroll you with free money just to test their software. They are so confident that you will love the experience and that you will keep coming back they will provide a some type of sign up bonus to play free poker games online at no cost whatsoever.
When you are selecting a site to play free poker games online another factor is the freeroll tournament. You want to make sure the site has plenty of daily freeroll tournaments going on at various intervals of the day and night since they make for some exciting online play. This is the main reason why people choose to play free poker games online in the first place. These sites will also have promotional freeroll tournaments for various prizes.
You also want to know that the site's poker software was designed by poker professionals themselves. Poker professionals have played so many hands in their lifetime that they know all the nuances and intricacies of both online and offline play. With their assistance only the better sites out there have managed to create some truly dynamic software that delivers a true poker experience.
The absolute best sites are often frequented by the same professionals that helped design the very software you are playing on. Through the chat software you will be able to communicate with them live during the game. How about sitting next to a professional and asking them for tips? That's pretty exciting within itself!
A financially healthy poker site is also a good sign that you will enjoy your time playing on their software. Look for sites that frequently advertise with friendly, inviting marketing. After all, you want to make sure the site is going to be around for the long haul.
This means they will also frequently test and update their software, monitor cheaters, and give excellent technical support. When you play free poker games online the object is to have as much fun as you possibly can without having to worry about technical issues.
